Effects of Early Intervention on PTSD Symptoms in Veterans
A new study published in the Journal of Traumatic Stress found that veterans who received trauma-focused therapy within the first 30 days after a traumatic event showed significantly lower PTSD symptom severity at 6-month follow-up.
The research highlighted the importance of rapid access to care and suggested that early intervention may prevent the chronicity of trauma responses.
These findings support expanding same-week therapy options for first responders and military personnel.
